Pakistani skipper Sarfraz Ahmed was at his very best during the recent warm-up fixture between Australia and Pakistan. The newly appointed captain definitely has a lot of things planned out in his mind for the tournament. Coming into the Champions Trophy 2017, they are the least ranked side in the event. A lot of talk has been around the same topic.

Hence, it comes as no surprise to see the players losing out an edge on the psychological factor. But skipper Sarfraz Ahmed has his own ways of dealing with things. With a stupendous effort in the field, he has certainly managed to lift the spirits of this teammates. Pakistan locked horns with Australia in their second warm-up fixture of the tournament at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Australian skipper Steve Smith won the toss and opted to bat first. In walked Aussie openers David Warner and Aaron Finch. The threatening duo could have taken things in their hands had there not been a superlative effort from Sarfraz. The action perspired in the fifth over of the game when Mohammad Amir bowled a short delivery to David Warner. The veteran Aussie southpaw opener tried to pull the delivery.

In his attempt, all that Warner could get was just a top edge. The ball went flying in the direction of the slip cordon. It could have easily gone between the first slip and the wicketkeeper. Had Sarfraz not gone for the catch, there was no chance that the slip fielder would have caught it. The ball would have certainly dipped before reaching the slip fielder.

Sarfraz Ahmed made a full extension dive to his left and managed to pocket a stunner. He held on to the catch as the crowd erupted in joy. Warner had to make the long walk back after scoring 11 off 9 deliveries. Sadly for the teams and the fans at the venue, the match was abandoned after only 10.2 overs of play due to rain. Australia finished with 57/1 in those overs before the game was called off.
