India regained superiority in the 5 match series after they beat New Zealand in the 3rd ODI at Mohali to go 2/1 up in the series. Set 286 runs to win by New Zealand, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni spearheaded the with fabulous knocks and help India chase down the target with 7 wickets and 10 balls to spare. It was a dominating show from India and New Zealand was not given much chance to compete as the game progressed.

While the New Zealanders had a bad day on-field, former all-rounder and now cricket commentator Scott Styris put himself in a sort of embarrassing situation while commentating with Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar during the first innings of the match when the Black Caps were batting.

The incident happened in the Kane Williamson and Martin Guptill was in the middle. Both looked comfortable and had successfully managed to thwart Umesh Yadav and Hardik Pandya duo. India needed wickets at the stage, and Dhoni yet again threw the ball to part-timer Kedar Jadhav in the eleventh over with a hope of getting a breakthrough.

Scott Styris was on air alongside Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri when Jadhav was brought into the attack. Jadhav has been a pain in the neck for New Zealand in this series, and Styris did not seem to be an enthusiast of Jadhav’s bowling skills. Styris made a remark when he saw Jadhav came into bowl in the 13th over. He said, “I will walk out of the commentary box, and take the first flight to New Zealand if Jadhav takes a wicket today.”

Styris was least expecting Jadhav to a wicket. But unfortunately, Jadhav bowled one straight to Williamson and trapped him LBW. He found himself in a rather funny situation.

“It’s been a pleasure. I am out of here,” he said before keeping the mic aside and leaving the commentary box leaving Shastri and Gavaskar in splits.

Jadhav had been a surprise package in the series so far for India, picking up three wickets in the first two games. With only 1 First Class wicket under his name before this series, Jadhav was not really known for his bowling exploits, but more for his batting and wicket-keeping skills. But, now, Jadhav currently is the second highest wicket taker with 6 wickets to hi name.
