Shah Rukh Khan welcomes his third T20 team - Cape Town Knight Riders

Bollywood super star Shah Rukh Khan is now the proud owner of three T20 teams. He is now having stakes in three T20 sides across three T20 leagues in the world. SRK, who has stakes in the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and in Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League, has now bought a franchise in the upcoming T20 Global League of South Africa.

The proposed T20 league of Cricket South Africa (CSA) was recently launched in London. At the event, the organisers announced the owners of the 9 participating cities of the competition. The player drafts for the inaugural edition of the tournament will take place on August 19 this year. The 8 centers across South Africa staged for the event would be – Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth, Stellenbosch and Benoni.

Among the owners, the Indian interests are of Shah Rukh Khan and the GMR Group (owner of the Delhi Daredevils). The team owned by SRK will be known as the Cape Town Knight Riders. Venky Mysore, stake holder of the Knight Riders teams, was very pleased with the new team in the new league. He took to his social media to announce the same and expressed his happiness about the new addition to the family.
