Shane Watson committed a blunder on the field during St Lucia Zouks’ match against Jamaica Tallawahs on Sunday in the Carribean Premier League. It was not with his performance, rather, he started to walk off the field after the 19th over, thinking the innings was completed.

Watson managed to work the ball around for a single in the last ball of Kesrick Williams’s 19th over. Skipper Darren Sammy was at the other end and he stopped the Australian all-rounder, but Watson refused to believe that there is still one over left and argued. Despite the conversation with Sammy, Watson still did not believe that and argued with Sammy that his calculation is correct until on-field Umpire stepped in and told him that 20th over is still left.

However, Jamaica Tallawahs would have wished that St Lucia Zouks’ innings ended sooner as Watson went on to score 18 runs off the last over with 2 sixes. That pushed the team total to 194 for 4 after 20 overs.

Apart from the miscalculation of the overs, Watson had a great match as he scored 42 runs off 17 balls. He came back with the ball to help his side successfully defend the target. His bowling figures of 4-0-26-1 in a high scoring game was quite impressive and the wicket he claimed was a big one of Chris Gayle.

Tallawahs lost the game by 17 runs and Watson was the Man of the Match. The Zouks climbed to the third spot. However, this will remain as one of the funniest incidents on the field as Watson did not even believe his teammate and skipper Sammy even after he told him that there is one over left in the inning.
