Usman Ghani was going great guns with 44 runs to his name. Afghanistan were 93-1 in 20.2 overs while Ravindra Jadeja was bowling.

Ghani decided to loft Jadeja on the on side but mishits it. Shikhar Dhawan runs back towards mid on and catches onto the ball. The ball escapes his hand as he hits the ground, but he smartly lobs it towards a waiting Umesh Yadav to complete the catch.

This is what team work is all about in cricket, having the back of your teammate, backing him up and also being ready to take anything that comes your way. Captain Dhoni would be proud of both the presence of mind shown by Dhawan in lobbing the ball to Yadav and the readiness of Umesh Yadav for being there to back Dhawan.

India is playing it’s second and final warmup match against Afghanistan in Adelaide before they start the defense of their crown against Pakistan on 15th February.

India today won the toss and batted first in a bid to give match practice to their batsmen. The beginning was not good as India lost Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli very cheaply. But then Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina came together and stitched a wonderful 100+ run partnership. Raina departed for 75 runs but Rohit was joined by Ajinkya Rahane and both of them took India to 374 runs in 50 overs.

Rohit compiled a brilliant 150 runs and Rahane remained unbeaten on 88 runs.
