A Streaker grabbed the attention by disrupting the BBL game between the Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars in the ongoing BBL 5. The incident happened in the 16th over of the first innings when the Sixers were batting. A half-naked man sprinted into the ground and stopped on the pitch and removed rest of his clothing.

The security officials appeared in a flash to take the incident under control. The reckless spectator tried to run off the pitch and but the security pinned him down and escorted him out of the ground to get rid of him.

This incident has made Cricket Australia reinforce its firm stance of condemning such behaviour on a cricket field. The streaker seemed to be happy and enjoying the moment at the time of getting caught, but things would soon turn awful for him as he would be at the receiving end of a hefty fine and a possible conviction.

According to the Sydney Cricket Ground website, a fan who invades the field can receive a penalty up to $5,500 plus conviction notices from the NSW Police. The individual will also be banned from attending all CA matches for the next 12 months.

Streakers pose a potential security threat to the players. On most occasions they run towards a particular player raising questions over the security arrangements.

In early 2015, Ephraim James McIntyre stripped down ran onto the field during the New Zealand v Sri Lanka game at Christchurch on February 14. The tattooed man fended a security guard before he was tackled and dragged from the ground wearing only a pair of socks.
