Watch: Stupidest Cricket Moment – Batsman forgets to complete the winning runs: Cricket’s history is full of amazing and astonishing moments. A fielder makes a superman like effort one day to take a catch while a batsman hits a bowler for a monstrous six through a reverse-sweep on the other. Likewise, cricketers and their actions also add a taste of humor in the sport. One may find someone’s haircut amusing or catch the crowd emulating the boundary-riders. These moments keep updating everyday but there is one incident that could be termed as the funniest (or stupidest, one could say) of all. An incident which not only shocked the fans in the crowd but also stunned the guest of honor “Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh Madam Sheikh Haseena Wajid” and battered the flavor of series win.

The incident occurred when West Indies toured Bangladesh for Sahara Cup ODI series. The 5-match ODI series was level at 2-2 and the final match was in progress. Bangladesh was the clear favorites to win the match and the series when they required only 1 to get from 28 balls and 2 wickets were in hand. The reliable Nasir Hossain was on strike and Andre Russell was about to bowl. Nasir Hossain cuts this length ball but the ball doesn’t reach the fence, the batsmen look to secure the winning runs through running. Nasir Hossain completes his run and jumps in joy. He removes a stump to keep as a souvenir but the non-striker Elias Sunny, most probably in joy, didn’t complete his run.

West Indies knock the stump out and appeal for a run-out or are they just complaining about the short run? Whatever it is it stuns the crowd in silence. Even her honorable Sheikh Haseena Wajid is shocked and mesmerized about what just happened. The umpires gave their verdict: The run was not counted and Bangladesh is still tied at scores level. What we are about to see could be the “stupidest mistake” a batsman can make or you can term it as “over-excitement”. Whatever you may name it but this was unique and un-seen and perhaps, the funniest moment ever happened in the sport of cricket.

Next ball, Nasir Hossain cuts through point and this time it’s FOUR! Bangladesh wins the match and the series 3-2 and makes its mark in history!
