Watch: T20 skills at display as Dravid smashes hat-trick of sixes: Rahul Sharad Dravid was perhaps the best to come from India if we talk purely in technical terms. He combined elegance and class with subtle stroke play to demolish the opposition. And he was a barrier you needed to breach in order to have any chance of defeating India.

Now if somebody told you that Rahul is one who attacks from ball one you would probably declare him mad. But that is exactly what happened when he played his first and only T20 international against England in 2011. Ironically it was a unique occasion as Dravid had declared prior to the match itself that he won’t be a part of India’s limited over plans going ahead and was only playing the game on the management’s insistence.

Jammy though made the encounter a memorable one with his breezy knock. After Parthiv Patel was dismissed, Dravid came in and was not looking fluent to start. But he suddenly broke free and the victim was the left-arm spinner Patel.

The first six was a mighty and uncharacteristic heave that sailed over the long on boundary. Knowing that Samit will bowl the next one a bit shorter, Dravid stepped out early and deposited the ball in almost the same region despite the ball not hitting the sweet spot of the willow. He completed the hat-trick of sixes courtesy a cross-batted slog that just crossed the mid-wicket boundary.

Dravid never played a T20I after that but ensured the fans had a lot to remember about his lone appearance in the shortest format at the world stage.
