South African skipper Faf du Plessis is set to undergo an official hearing in Adelaide this morning, for ball tampering in the second Test match against Australia at Hobart.

Meanwhile, a footage emerged as the Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli is found doing a similar kind of ball tampering during the first Test against England in Rajkot this week as per the reports from IOL website. Du Plessis has been charged for breaching Article 2.2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct after television footage confirmed the usage of an artificial substance – the sugar of a mint sweet – on the ball during the fourth day’s play.

If found guilty, du Plessis might face a ban from one Test match which will be the third Test at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday. Du Plessis was charged by the ICC after the emergence of the footage.

The footage of Virat Kohli clearly shows the Indian skipper taking his right hand into his mouth, in which a sweet is seen. He rubbed his fingers in his mouth before going back to shine one side of the ball.

Like what happened to du Plessis in Hobart, neither the umpires nor the match referee pointed it out when the match was going on until the footage being available. ICC is yet to take an action on the footage of Virat Kohli.

However, the MATCH ended in a draw and India went on to win the second Test match at Vizag by 246 runs to lead the 5-match series 1-0. It was Virat Kohli, who scored most of the runs in the match – 167 in the first innings and 81 in the second innings. He was also awarded as the player of the match in the second Test.
