Watch: Wasim Akram finds carbon-copy of Malinga in Pakistan: The name of Slinga Malinga is enough to scare the hell out of any batsman. And why it wouldn’t be? When a bowler is delivering toe-crushing Yorkers with a slingy action then even normal deliveries turn into a batsman’s nightmare. Malinga has a lot of variations with which he send chills down the batters spine. From his deceptive bouncers to his slower deliveries, from length balls to unplayable Yokers, this man possesses every trick up his sleeves.
But now with time his destructive caliber seems to be diminishing. What would be cricket like after Malinga? Don’t scratch your head folks. Because the Sultan of Swing Wasim Akram has found a bowler whose action is similar to Lasith Malinga’s. Although, it would be impossible to find another Malinga again but this boy from Pakistan certainly seems to be a carbon-copy of Malinga as far as unorthodox stance and slinga action is concerned.
Few days ago, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had organized a fast bowling training camp in National Stadium Karachi for the young and talented fast bowlers playing in the domestic circuit of Pakistan. It was organized under the coaching of Wasim Akram and Pakistani bowling Coach Muhammad Akram. Wasim found a young fast bowler there named Afraz Khoso who hails from Jacocabad, and has side arm action. Afraz is a left-arm fast bowler and has the capacity to generate good pace.
Wasim Akram hailed the young bowler. He believes that Khoso has a bright future ahead and if he can work his way out of obstacles, then he has everything in him to succeed at the top-level. For all the Malinga fans, this video is a must watch.
