Wasim Akram is widely regarded as one of the greatest pacers to have played the game. The former Pakistan pacer was buoyant, ferocious and undoubtedly created a great impact on the cricketing universe. However, there’s a young kid in action who has managed to awestruck even the great.
Recently a video has been doing the rounds where a young kid can be seen bowling at a single stump. The youngster has managed to hit the stumps more times than not in the clip. What’s even more praiseworthy is the fact that he isn’t even wearing any shoes. Akram shared the same on his Twitter account.
It’s time we do something for the future of cricket
One of the fans on social media asked the Multan Sultans’ director’s view on the video clip surfacing. By the tone of Akram, it could be clearly understood that he was shocked at how talent wasn’t being hunted at ground levels. He expected some platform where kids like these could be launched.
I just recieved this video and don’t know about this brilliant kid, want to know your thoughts abt this terrific bowling. @wasimakramlive @shoaib100mph @iramizraja @SAfridiOfficial pic.twitter.com/8JPRQNHlfj

Here’s what he tweeted regarding the same:-
“Where is this boy??? We have serious talent flowing through the veins of our nation and no platform for these kids to be discovered. It’s time we do something about it #TheFutureOfCricketIsWithOurYouth’.”

For a change, it was good to see Wasim Akram raising important concerns within the cricketing circles. Ever since the PSL began, the talent has been scouted well in the Pakistani ranks. However there’s still a lot to be done at ground level and with the resilience of the yesteryear greats, this may well be achieved.
Multan Sultans are currently placed third in the rankings having won a couple of games. Akram who’s also the bowling mentor has been working with the likes of Mohammed Irfan and Junaid Khan. The former Pakistani speedster accounted for more than 900 wickets in his international career
