Watch: Zaheer Khan destroys Hashim Amla’s timber: The 3^rd ODI between South Africa and India at Newlands, Cape Town started on a blazing note, as Zaheer Khan rattled Hashim Amla’s stumps by beating the right hander’s defense convincingly.

Earlier, Amla had smashed the fourth ball of the over to the fence as South Africa reached 31 without any loss. Zaheer Khan changed the angle to his liking, as Amla tried to hit on the up ambitiously.

The big expensive drive that Amla attempted turned out to be a mistake, as Zaheer’s delivery went through and rattled the stumps. Amla scored an 18 balls 16 before getting bowled by a beauty from the left arm pacer. Zaheer ended up picking 3 wickets for 43 runs.

JP Duminy and Faf du Plessis steadied the ship for South Africa, as the hosts were all out for 220, with Duminy scoring 52 and Faf du Plessis scoring 60.

In reply, India lost their first wicket cheaply. Virat Kohli scored a patient 28, while Raina chipped in with 37. Yusuf Pathan was at his best, as he smashed a 50-ball 59 runs with 3 sixes and 6 boundaries. India ended up winning a nail biter and gained a vital lead of 2-1 in the 5-match series.

Interestingly, Faf du Plessis made his debut in this match and made it memorable with his maiden half-century.
