Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson and England batsman Kevin Pietersen might have not had the best of relations while on the cricket field. But they seem to have found a bonding topic over the weekend and that happens to be England skipper Alastair Cook.
Cook who must be busy ironing out his final strategies as England prepare to face the challenge from Pakistan in the 4-match Test that starts on July 14 at the Lord’s was made look selfish by the duo.
It was Watson who started it with a Tweet in which he tagged Pietersen and wrote ‘@KP24 I really want to know why @Ian_Bell isn’t being recalled to the Test team. A beautiful batsmen with a great record#class#22Hundreds.’

KP is always looking for opportunities to hit back at the England Cricket Board any any of those he feels were responsible for his exit. He replied to that Tweet from Watson and wrote ‘I reckon Cook won’t pick anyone that could jeopardise any of his records, Watto! @ShaneRWatson33.’

It’s an interesting perceptive put up by Pietersen since he himself with 23 Test tons and Bell who has 22 are the only two who can challenge Alastair Cook’s England record of 28. The most prominent batsman in the English lineup at the moment Joe Root is a distant 38th and is nowhere close to the trio.
Some fans enjoyed this accusation while others also trolled them back with their response. Here is how Twitterati responded to their Tweets:
@ShaneRWatson33 @KP24 @Ian_Bell : Watto you're asking that to a person who himself is trying to figure out why is he not being called !

@ShaneRWatson33 @KP24 @Ian_Bell same board that dropped KP – not surprised. On the plus side, it's good for Pakistan (and your PSL buddies)!

We don't pick on beauty. And if Australia did the same you'd never get a game.— Boring JamesAnderson (@boringjimmy613) July 9, 2016

@ShaneRWatson33 @KP24 @Ian_Bell For about 2 years he could barely buy a run in Test cricket. Time right to move on. Given plenty of chances

@ShaneRWatson33 True! @Ian_Bell is a wonderful player. But lacked form off late. He deserves more time. What say @KP24 ?

@ShaneRWatson33 @KP24 @Ian_Bell eyes gone, very rarely provided an innings when needed. England rightly moved on
