Chennai Super Kings’ player C Hari Nishaanth got married on June 09 and the franchise posted a congratulatory tweet with a video on Friday morning for the couple. Nishaanth is yet to make a debut in the Indian Premier League but plays regularly for the Tamil Nadu side in the domestic cricket circuit.

The four-time IPL champions struggled for consistency this year and finished the season in the ninth position with just four wins from the 14 matches. Nishaanth also failed to make a debut this season with Robin Uthappa and Devon Conway forming an opening-pair partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad. ‘The Yellow Army’ did a good congratulatory gesture with a half-minute video for the newly married Nishaanth couple on their Twitter handle. The video showed the newlyweds all happy and smiling at a big event.

“Hari got hitched!  Here’s to the one where we pronounce you Super Couple!” Chennai Super Kings congratulate C Hari Nishaanth.

Hari Nishaanth has played one FC game so far

The 25-year-old batter was excellent for Tamil Nadu in their success in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021, under the leadership of Dinesh Karthik. He scored 246 runs at an average of 41 and played a crucial knock of 35 runs in the final. He formed a good partnership at the top with his childhood friend and another CSK batter N Jagadeesan where latter finished the tournament as the highest run-getter. Nishaanth also played one First-Class match for Tamil Nadu in the 2019-20 season but failed to make an impact there. He also struggled for consistency in List A cricket but showed some glimpse of his brilliance in domestic T20 matches.

Chennai Super Kings bought him for a base price in the 2021 mini-auction but the player failed to impress the management. Nishaanth was bought by CSK once again in this season’s mega auction for a base price of 20 lakh but was not given a chance to show his quality. But the player is likely to be retained by the MS Dhoni-led franchise with Ambati Rayudu and Robin Uthappa getting in their late 30s by next season.
