The irresistible Australians picked up a crucial 21-run win over Pakistan in their Group B fixture.James Faulkner, the man of the match, however, kept his feet on the ground stating that India will be a tough opposition to face. Apart from relishing the challenge, Faulkner stated that they are a tough opponent especially playing on home soil. Faulkner now has the best bowling figures in T20 internationals having concluded with figures of 5/27.

“I was lucky there at the end. More importantly, we are back on track. We have played well all summer back home. We showed what we can do with the bat. Looking forward to the next game against India, who are a tough opponent at home. We should be up for the challenge,” James Faulkner said.

Steve Smith lauded his side’s performance, pointing out a few players who did indeed tipped the game in their favor. Smith stated that David Warner seemed to hit the ball fairly decently while Aaron Finch looked solid for a start. Adam Zampa, who concluded with two wickets, was also impressive on the night.

“It all came together. We have not played to potential in the [first] two games. Today was quite a clinical performance. Yeah, I thought Warner was hitting well. He needed to face more balls. Finch looked good for a start. Zampa has bowled beautifully. He reads the batsmen well and is really smart, which is great for Australia. Tomorrow will be about resting, we will be back in two days,” Smith added.
