Chennai Super Kings (CSK) produced a clinical performance against Delhi Capitals on Sunday (May 8) to keep their hopes of qualifying for the IPL 2022 playoffs alive. The defending champions dominated Rishabh Pant’s team right from the outset and walked away with an emphatic 91-run win. Although the Yellow Army seems all but out of the final-four race despite this win, they are mathematically still in the hunt.

Meanwhile, the game also witnessed a light moment as CSK skipper MS Dhoni was seen pulling Dwayne Bravo’s leg over his age. It all happened during the 17th over of DC’s innings. Anrich Nortje punched Maheesh Theekshana’s delivery to the cover region and Bravo, who was fielding inside the circle, did pretty well to stop the single. Dhoni cheekily lauded his efforts as he was caught saying: “Well done old man.”

Even the commentators were left in splits with the wicketkeeper’s antics. Notably, Bravo, 38, is retired from international cricket and is in the twilight of his professional career as well. However, the West Indies star only seems to get better with time. He took two wickets against DC to help his side seal the game. Notably, Bravo and Dhoni have been CSK teammates since 2011 and are known to share a great bond. The same was evident in the viral video.

Meanwhile, CSK posted a mammoth 208/6 while batting first with opener Devon Conway putting up a batting exhibition. He scored 87 off just 49 deliveries, setting the stage for the batters to come. Towards the end, skipper Dhoni also played a fine cameo, 21* off eight balls, to bolster CSK’s total. In reply, DC lost wickets at regular intervals and was bundled out for 117.

Dhoni called this win a ‘perfect game’ for CSK and said such a performance earlier in the tournament would have put them in a better place. “It would have been better if we would have had a win like this somewhere early. It was a perfect game. The batters did really well,” he stated.
