After a comfortable 4-1 win in the unofficial ODI series, India A will fight out in a 3-match Test series against the hosts. Shreyas Iyer, the captain of India A team, will join the Indian T20I squad later on. Shamarh Brooks will lead West Indies A after a couple of last-minute injuries to their players. The hosts will miss the services of Kraigg Brathwaite and Shane Dowrich who picked up ankle injuries and were ordered to take rest.
Wriddhiman Saha’s comeback tale begins with this series as he is included in all the three unofficial Tests. However, the veteran keeper from Bengal might play only first two games before joining Indian Test squad as back-up keeper. Andhra’s KS Bharat will get his chances in the series later on. Bharat is considered to be in perking order as Indian Test keeper with only Rishabh Pant and Saha ahead of him.
The first game of the 3-match Unofficial Test series between West Indies A and India A will be hosted by the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua.
The match starts at 9:30 AM local time (1:30 PM GMT) (7:00 PM IST). The game will be streamed live on YouTube by Windes Cricket.
In the recent past, the Antigua’s North Sound has been a venue for low totals in first-class cricket. Across six FC games since 2018 here, only twice a team managed to post 300+ runs in an innings. The pacers enjoyed the assistance at this venue recently and the same could be continued unless a change in the pitches from the previous season.

Wriddhiman Saha is the only player in the keepers’ category who will be part of the playing XI from both sides. KS Bharat will have to wait for Saha while Shane Dowrich picked up an injury. The keeper’s selection could reduce the number of Indians from batsmen’s category. Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer are likely to bat at No.4 and No.5 respectively. It is their batting position that does not allow them to be picked ahead of other batsmen.
India A could be seen continuing their good form and go 1-0 up in the 3-match series.
