West Indies spinner Sunil Narine’s IPL ban extends to International Cricket: If things looked bad for the West Indies and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spinner Sunil Narine for being reported with suspected bowling action in the IPL, which prevented him from bowling off-spin balls they are tuning worst as his ban now will extend not only up to BCCI organized matches but also to Intentional cricket.

Narine was reported for having a suspected, dodgy bowling action by the on-field umpires following the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) v KKR match at Visakhapatnam on 22nd April. A video analysis by the BCCI Suspected Bowling Action committee found his action to be falling under the uncertain zone and the Board ordered that the West Indian is no longer allowed to ball his off-spin deliveries though he can continue with his variations, the quicker delivery and knuckle ball.

News agency Wisden India confirmed with the International Cricket Council (ICC) that if the BCCI bans Sunil Narine it will extend to the bowlers’ appearance in International matches. The council had added a provision to its law during the April 16 meeting which states that ‘as long as the bowler had been assessed by the member country using the ICC testing protocol at an ICC-accredited testing centre’ which will now make way for such reports and bans to not only stay to boards but also get linked in international cricket.

KKR have avoided including Narine in the XI since the Board announced that he had been reported to stay away from a situation which could see him getting banned again. The option available with him now is to undergo a biomechanical analysis after altering his action for the off-spin delivery at the Sri Ramachandra Arthroscopy and Sports Science Centre in Chennai, the same place where he was cleared last month.

As far as his form is concerned, it is a concerning aspect as well, all that Sunil Narine could manage in the 5 matches that he played this season was 2 wickets at an economy of over 8 runs per over, before being benched for the following two games.
