India and West Indies will be locking horns in the third T20I at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts on Tuesday, August 2. Both teams have hardly got any time to rest and will be back in action just hours after the second game that saw the hosts register an emphatic five-wicket victory in a final-over thriller.

By virtue of West Indies’ win, the series is now level at 1-1 with three games to be played and it would be interesting to see how both teams would be eager to show enthusiasm in this all-important clash which has been delayed by 90 minutes on account of it being a back-to-back fixture.

The hosts would be oozing with confidence heading into this contest after showcasing a far superior performance both with the bat and ball in the last game, riding on brilliance from pacer Obed McCoy and opening batter Brandon King. They would be looking forward to replicate similar performances in the upcoming contest.

However, the pressure will be on India, especially their famed batting line-up which was blown away by McCoy, who starred with match-winning figures of 6/17 from his four overs at an economy of 4.25 including a maiden. Thus, this was the second instance in under a month when the Indian batters were undone by a left-arm pacer. The last time the Men in Blue found themselves in this position was during the Lord’s ODI on July 14, 2022, when England pacer Reece Topley’s 6/24 handed them a 100-run defeat.

Meanwhile, it would be interesting to see whether the team management gives another chance to Avesh Khan, who conceded a six and a four while defending nine runs in the final over. They would be desperately searching for a good option as senior pacer Harshal Patel has been sidelined with a rib injury.

Here’s a look at how the weather will behave during the WI vs IND clash

According to the forecast on Accuweather, the conditions are expected to be challenging with the temperature going up to the 32-degree Celsius mark. Meanwhile, the conditions will also be extremely humid with the humidity levels in the mid and high-60s and wind gusts of 32 km/h could offer some relief for the players out in the middle. Even though the conditions are going to be humid, dew will not be playing any role in this contest.

The temperature at St Kitts is expected to be 30° Celsius during the day and fall to 26° Celsius at night with the sky being partly cloudy during the day and night.
