For the second time in a row, Ireland squandered the toss advantage in the ODI series against West Indies. Especially after the performance in the last game, they’d be extremely disappointed. They should have comfortably won that encounter. However, some sloppy work has resulted in them ending up on the wrong side of the result. With the series already conceded, Ireland has got nothing to lose as they get ready for the last ODI.

They will want to come out all guns blazing and possibly register a victory in this match. West Indies, on the other hand, have got a lot to ponder upon. Their batting performance in the first ODI didn’t seem a concern as they were chasing a low total. But several flaws were exposed in the second game and they were on the fringe of losing that game. Even though they’d be satisfied with the result, there is a scope of a lot of improvement as they head into this game.

Pitch and Conditions

The last time an ODI game was played in Grenada, over 800 runs were scored. The pitch at this venue has got better for batting in recent times and should hopefully stay the way. But the overcast conditions and the moisture in the air might assist the bowlers slightly. They should look to make the most of the new ball. There is a slight chance of rain as well.

Team Combinations

West Indies

West Indies seem to be in an experimenting mode and made two changes for the last game. The idea is to give all the players in the squad a go. However, it seems tough for Sunil Ambris to make the cut and he might warm the bench in this game as well unless they decide to rest one of the top players. Romario Shepherd looked good and might hold onto his place in the eleven.

Predicted XI: Shai Hope (wk), Evin Lewis, Brandon King, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard (c), Romario Shepherd, Keemo Paul/Khary Pierre, Hayden Walsh, Alzarri Joseph, Sheldon Cottrell.

Ireland

After two consecutive losses, Ireland has got a few decisions to make. Gareth Delany failed to impress in both the opportunities that he got. Thus, he might have to make way for James McCollum. Ireland might also consider bringing in Gary Wilson into the eleven. The bowling unit will remain the same for this game as well.

Predicted XI: Paul Stirling, Gareth Delany/James McCollum, Andrew Balbirnie (c), William Porterfield, Kevin O’Brien, Lorcan Tucker/Gary Wilson (wk), Simi Singh, Mark Adair, Barry McCarthy, Andy McBrine, Boyd Rankin.

Probable Top Performers
