Universe Boss Chris Gayle is known to enjoy his time, be it on the off the field or off it. He is 41 years old at the moment but is still hungry to play the sport and is the part of the current West Indies T20 side for the ongoing series against South Africa. A perfect example of how is enjoying the game was witnessed in the fourth T20I played between the two teams on July 1.

After being invited to bat first, the Caribbean side lost early wickets even as Gayle, batting at three, also failed to make an impact. He scored only five runs off 8 balls before being dismissed by Kagiso Rabada. However, their skipper Kieron Pollard stepped up to smash an unbeaten 51 off 25 balls which helped the hosts post a challenging total of 167 runs on the board.

The West Indies needed early wickets to restrict the strong South African batting line-up and to everyone’s surprise, it was Chris Gayle who provided them with the breakthrough. Pollard introduced him in the attack in the second over of the innings itself and the off-spinner managed to send back the dangerous Reeza Hendricks to the pavilion off his very first ball.

No wonder, Gayle was chuffed with the success and he hilariously performed a cartwheel celebration to leave his teammates and the fans in splits. The man himself also enjoyed it the most.

Here’s the video:

West Indies level the series with a stunning win

After posting 167 on the back of the skipper’s whirlwind knock, West Indies struck regularly with the ball. Riding on the early wicket picked by Chris Gayle, they managed to put the pressure on the opposition. Quinton de Kock kept on playing his shots from the other end scoring 60 off just 43 balls but he barely got any support.

Apart from him, only three South Africa batsmen reached the double figures and that too with not the expected strike-rate. Dwayne Bravo was the star with the ball for the home side as he returned with the figures of 4/19 while Pollard also did well in his four overs conceding only 24 runs and picking up Rassie van der Dussen’s wicket.

With this 21-run win, the West Indies managed to level the series and looking at the mood Chris Gayle is in, one can expect the storm to hit in the decider.
