The India Women came back in scintillating fashion and beat the South Africa Women by 9 wickets in the second ODI to level the 5-match ODI series 1-1. The Women in Blue played what can be labelled as a ‘perfect match’ to steamroll the Sune Luus-led side in the second rubber.

The South African batting lineup wilted as pace bowling legend Jhulan Goswami and Rajeshwari Gayakwad combined to pick up 7 wickets. In fact, apart from Lara Goodall and skipper Sune Luus, no batswoman from the South African camp could even cross the 20-run mark in the second ODI.

For the hosts, Smriti Mandhana and Punam Raut combined to put on a scintillating undefeated partnership of 138 runs for the second wicket. While Mandhana scored a marauding 64 ball 80*, Raut helped herself to 62* off 89 deliveries as the India Women romped home with ease. Both sides will be looking to take a 2-1 lead when they clash in the third ODI on 12th March 2021.
