After a totally one-sided ODI series that saw New Zealand hammering Bangladesh 3-0, the two sides will collide with each other in a three-match T20I series, with the first rubber commencing on 28th March 2021 at Hamilton. The second and third T20Is will be played on 30th March and 1st April 2021 respectively.
The Bangladesh side could not match New Zealand’s prowess in the ODI series. In fact, in the 1st and 3rd ODI matches, the Tigers could not even cross the 200-run mark with the willow. Even their bowling was ordinary and lacked bite, as the Black Caps faced no problems while dealing with their bowlers.
The Bangladesh side has lost 4 out of its last 6 T20I matches. And, even their 2 victories came against the Zimbabwe side at home. On the other hand, the Kiwis have been on a roll in T20I cricket, and have won 7 out of their last 11 matches. Bangladesh has never managed to beat the Black Caps in even a single T20I. Needless to say, New Zealand will once again start as the favorites. On the other hand, Bangladesh will desperately be hoping for a change of fortunes.
Pitch and Conditions
The pitch at Seddon Park in Hamilton is one where batsmen will have the upper hand. The ball will come onto the bat, and with the boundaries on the shorter side, we can expect the ball to fly around.
