Babar Azam is a batting phenomenon. He is a special talent. And, if you have some doubts regarding this, then all you need to do is to watch the way the Pakistani batting sensation dissected the South African bowling attack in the third T20I at Centurion. The 26-year-old batting superstar scored a vintage 122 off just 59 deliveries to allow the Pakistan side to canter home by 9 wickets in the third T20I against the Proteas.

In fact, such was magnificence in Babar Azam’s innings that the 47-ball unbeaten 73 that Mohammad Rizwan scored at the top of the order was relegated to the background. The duo of Rizwan and Babar put on an opening stand of 197 runs as the visitors chased down a mammoth target of 204 set by South Africa with 9 wickets and 2 overs to spare.

For South Africa too, it was the openers who stood up. The duo of Janneman Malan and Aiden Markram put on a whirlwind partnership of 108 runs off just 10.4 overs. While Malan scored 55 off 40 deliveries, Markram blazed his way to a murderous 63 off just 31 balls. Also, the likes of George Linde and Rassie van der Dussen helped themselves to blistering knocks as well.

And, the bowlers from both sides got hammered on a pitch that was a batting beauty and the boundaries were on the shorter side. None of the 10 bowlers who rolled their arm over in the entire match went at an economy rate of less than 8 runs an over.

With Pakistan 2-1 up in the four-match T20I series, both the teams will head into the 4th and final T20I with plenty on the line. While South Africa will be fighting to stay alive in the series, the Pakistan side will look to seal it 3-1. So, there is plenty to look forward to, when both these teams head onto the field for the 4th T20I at Centurion on 16th April 2021.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at Centurion is one where batsmen can make hay. The bowlers will be taken to the cleaners if they miss their length, and the margin for error for the bowlers is extremely less. Expect the batsmen from both sides to score big.
