If someone had told Zimbabwe that they would go into the third T20I with a chance of winning the series, with all respect to them, the team only wouldn’t have believed it. But Zimbabwe have done it. Their top players in Sean Williams and Craig Ervine didn’t play the must-win second T20I and the returning Brendan Taylor took over the reins for the game to lead the team to a victory.

Zimbabwe defended 118 runs to stun Pakistan who never looked comfortable chasing the meagre total on a slow pitch. Luke Jongwe was the star for them with the ball whose 2017 tweet regarding playing in the IPL has gone viral after his exceptional performance in the first two matches.

Having said that, the Men in Red have been sparkling for only one-odd game across formats before going quiet for a long time. Zimbabwe would definitely love to change this routine and finally grab a rare chance of winning the series.

As for Pakistan, their skipper Babar Azam was extremely disappointed after a ‘painful performance’. They never adapted to the slow surface and most importantly, set batsmen didn’t carry leading to a collapse. The visitors lost their last seven wickets for 21 runs to get bundled out for only 99 runs.

However, they will once again enter this contest as the favourites. Pakistan though must have understood now that they can’t take Zimbabwe lightly who will come hard at them with a genuine chance of winning the series.

Pitch and Conditions

It remains to be seen if the pitch used for second T20I will witness the action again in the series decider. In any case, batting first looks a wise option and the side winning the toss will definitely do the same after the way the first two games have transpired. There is no chance of rain in morning in the country.

Playing Combinations for ZIM vs PAK

Zimbabwe

Craig Ervine has been ruled out of the series while there is no update on the availability of the skipper Sean Williams. Zimbabwe are likely to go unchanged after a win in the previous game.

Probable XI: Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, Brendan Taylor (C), Tadiwanashe Marumani/Sean Williams, Wesley Madhevere, Ryan Burl, Regis Chakabva (WK), Tarisai Musakanda, Luke Jongwe, Wellington Masakadza, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava.

Pakistan

Pakistan might ponder bringing back Haider Ali in place of misfiring Asif Ali. It would be harsh on Danish Aziz is he is dropped while Arshad Iqbal too didn’t do much wrong with the ball to be left out. It also remains to be seen if Hasan Ali or Shaheen Afridi get a look-in with the series on the line.

Probable XI: Mohammad Rizwan (WK), Babar Azam (C), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Danish Aziz, Asif Ali/Haider Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Usman Qadir, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, Haris Rauf, Arshad Iqbal.
