Why should the Indian fans Celebrate the Win in the 3rd ODI?: After losing the first two ODIs in a humiliating manner, the Indians found respite by winning the third ODI against Bangladesh and avoided whitewash. This happened to be the first time that India lost a bilateral series against Bangladesh. The bowlers failed collectively, followed by a woeful batting display from the middle order in the first two matches of the series. Indeed, things have been disheartening. But just as the notion goes for the faces of the coin, everything by itself has some good prospects too. And there are quite a number of reasons that we should celebrate the victory in the last match instead of mourning the series loss.
First of all, we found the reliability in the number 4 position with MS Dhoni not only talking up but perfectly filling in the role. Dhoni used to come lower down the middle order and didn’t get much of a scope for doing something blistering. But in the last two ODIs, he has batted at number 4 position and scored 47 and 69 respectively. The middle order strength of India looked quite in shape because of that.
Also, Raina did make a point the last match by playing a handy cameo with the bat which was followed by an incredible bowling performance when he managed to take 3 wickets. India can rely upon him as an all-rounder and can fill in the void of a spinner in the team. Ravindra Jadeja’s lean patch continued for yet another time in the series and he was eventually dropped in the third ODI. It is quite likely that he would not be included into the squad for the next few series as this will provide himself with the opportunity to re-shape himself for doing the best. Jadeja has got the talent for sure and has two first class level triple hundreds. If he is given the time, to re-shape himself as a bowling all-rounder, he would definitely make a prospective comeback in a year.
In the third match, India found a great decency in fast bowling from Dhawal Kulkarni. Kulkarni managed to pick up 2 wickets by conceding 34 runs. This goes to ensure that India has got yet another swing bowler in the squad which might well come handy for the Men in Blue in the matches to come.
Another confidence booster from the third ODI is the fact that each of the top 6 batsman of the Indian line up scored over 25 runs which is a hopeful sign indeed. With important series coming up in the near future, it is important that the batsmen are able to retain their form. Shikhar Dhawan stood as the highest run scorer for India with 158 runs in 3 matches. The left handed opening batsman also became the sole Indian player to have completed 1000+ runs in the last year.
Ravichandran Ashwin bowled incredibly well for the team in all the three matches and in the third match, he managed to keep the pressure onto the batsmen. This ensured that the spinning department of the team is still a strength for them with Ashwin in form.
Finally, after two disheartening wins, they did not lose heart or hope, instead the Indian team re-united to snatch a victory and the skipper led the team from the front. This will surely boost the morale of the team and by letting things go, India should now focus on the upcoming cricketing matches in the near future and should give their best to notch up noteworthy performances and results.
