The rain gods made had their say in Team India’s first game on their West Indies tour as the first ODI of the 5-match series between India and Windies ended in a washout after the visitors batted for 39.2 overs. The home side won the toss and invited the Indians to bat on a wicket that looked damp.

The visiting side’s opening pair Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane kept going and registered a record stand by scoring fifties. India slowed down after their dismissals and the rain started interrupting their innings. They posted 199/3 in the 39.2 possible overs after which the game never resumed.
