Team India didn’t have to break a sweat on this tour of West Indies thus far. The ‘Men in Blue‘ haven’t been challenged by the home team as yet and it has all been easy sailing thus far. After clean sweeping the hosts in the T20I series, the visitors have set their eyes on the ODI series as well as they gear up for the 3rd ODI at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad.

The purpose of this limited-overs series has been served and most of the players have got their opportunities. However, a few players are still warming the bench and will be eager for their chance. Thus, for this last game, India might look to make a few changes to the eleven and experiment a bit. At the same time, winning the series is equally important and they’ll look to put their best foot forward.

Here is the Predicted Playing XI for India

Openers (Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma)

Shikhar Dhawan isn’t a part of the Test squad. Thus, he will have a small break after this match. He is yet to find his form back and hasn’t impressed on this tour thus far. The left-hander has had quite a few troubles facing left-arm seamers and has particularly struggled against the incoming delivery. Thus, he will need to make minor adjustments and will eye a big score this time.

Rohit Sharma played an uncharacteristic knock in the second ODI and didn’t get the strike too often in the early part of his innings. Thus, he never really found the momentum and ended up playing too many dot balls. He is in terrific form and should look to make the best use of it. Moreover, he has got a point to prove ahead of the upcoming Test series.

Middle Order (Virat Kohli (c), Shreyas Iyer (wk), Rishabh Pant)

After five months, Virat Kohli registered an ODI century in the last game and it was a treat to watch him bat. The openers failed to deliver in the second ODI and there was a great responsibility for him. With the conditions being humid and the pitch not as easy to bat on, it wasn’t easy to get a big score. However, the Indian skipper pushed himself really well and played an excellent knock.

With India yet to win the series, it is unlikely that he will rest himself. Shreyas Iyer must bat at four for India. He is an ideal person to bat at this position and rotates the strike well. Iyer has displayed his capability in the last match and should be given a long run. India should look at Rishabh Pant as the finisher rather than someone who can bat at four. He might produce some good knocks occasionally but that isn’t really the ideal position for him.

All Rounders (Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja)

Kedar Jadhav will get another opportunity as he hasn’t really got to prove himself in the last few months. He looked good in the last game but was unfortunately run out. While he is crucial down the order, India will also look at him as the sixth bowling option in the absence of Hardik Pandya.

Ravindra Jadeja, after that performance against New Zealand in the semi-final of the World Cup 2019, will sure get an extended run in the ODI team. He adds a great balance to the line-up and seems to have worked really hard on his batting of late. Jadeja is also quite accurate with the ball and it is tough to attack him.

Bowlers (Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Navdeep Saini, Khaleel Ahmed)

Since Bhuvneshwar Kumar isn’t a part of the Test set-up for this tour, he will definitely play this game. He seems to be finding his rhythm back and is hitting the right areas. Bhuvi picked up four wickets in the last game and was unfortunate not to have made it five. Before he flies back to India, he will want to make an impact yet again in this game.

India is likely to make some changes to the bowling line-up. Yuzvendra Chahal might get a chance in this game and it will be a wonderful test for him bowling to so many left-handers. Also, the management might rest Mohammed Shami and give Navdeep Saini his ODI debut. Khaleel Ahmed will continue to feature in the side.
