Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has picked Rohit Sharma as his favourite batter at the moment. The Indian opener has been a force to reckon with and his numbers across formats are nothing but exceptional. In fact, Rohit is the only batter with four T20I centuries and three double tons in ODI cricket. Harbhajan, who has played a lot of cricket alongside Rohit, said he likes to see the batter in action across formats.

Calling Rohit probably the best batter at the moment, the 41-year-old said the likes of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul are equally good. However, he feels Rohit is on a ‘different level’ altogether. Notably, Rohit is now India’s captain in white-ball cricket and is expected to receive the reins of Test team as well with Kohli stepping down for the leadership role.

I think Rohit Sharma is probably the best batter in world cricket: Harbhajan Singh

Hence, many eyes will be on his performance in coming times. Harbhajan certainly seems to have high expectations from him. “Favourite batsman: Rohit Sharma. Whether T20, one-day cricket, Test cricket, when Rohit is batting, he is unbelievable. He has got so much of time, he makes batting look very, very easy,” Harbhajan told Sports Today.

“I think Rohit is probably the best batsman in world cricket, with all due respect to others like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. They are equally good as well but when Rohit plays, he is different level altogether. So Rohit is my favourite batsman,” he added. Meanwhile, Harbhajan was also asked to name his favourite bowler and he went with his former Mumbai Indians teammate Jasprit Bumrah.

“Coming to bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah I think is a class apart. Whether we talk about T20s, one-dayers or Test cricket, Jasprit Bumrah is a top-class bowler. These are my two favourite players,” he added. Meanwhile, Rohit will make a comeback from injury in the upcoming white-ball series against West Indies, which comprises three ODIs and as many T20Is. It will be his first assignment as full-time ODI skipper. Bumrah has been rested from these fixtures.
