Match Details:

The 13th match of the 2019 Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) will be played between Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane.

The match starts at 9:40 AM local time (11:40 AM GMT – Prev Day) (5:10 AM IST).

The game will be live on Sony ESPN and Sony ESPN HD in India. Live streaming available on Sony Liv.

Preview:

The Adelaide Strikers registered an unlikely win by three runs against Hobart Hurricanes on Saturday morning. The Strikers could only make 113/8 in their 20 overs following a poor effort with the bat. Nicola Carey’s knock kept the Hurricanes on the top in the chase. They needed only 19 runs from last three overs with six wickets in hand but ended up scoring only 15 runs without any boundaries.

They will now face Perth Scorchers at the same venue on Sunday. The Scorchers got the better of the home team Brisbane Heat also at the Allan Border Field on Saturday. They restricted the defending champions to 146/7. In response, Amy Jones (60*) and Meg Lanning (55) alone added 129 runs for the first wicket as the Scorchers won the game with nine wickets and 10 balls to spare.

Weather Condition/Report:

There won’t be any difference in the weather at the Allan Border Field from Saturday. Another uninterrupted game is expected at this venue.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The Allan Border Field remained on the slower side in the morning match on Saturday. The track didn’t allow the batters play strokes at will resulting in a 3-run defeat for the Hurricanes while chasing only 114. Once again, it could be two-paced behaviour in the morning on what is expected to be a fresh track.

Average first innings score: 123 (Women’s T20s since 2017)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 5, Lost – 2

Expert Advice:

Sophie Devine did struggle to get going against the new ball. The pitch is expected to remain same on Sunday as Devine might not be assured of a big score. Her bowling might not be effective against an International top-order of Perth. Hence, excluding her will be a well-planned gamble only for this match.

Probable Winners:

Perth Scorchers are expected to register their 2nd consecutive win.
