The Scorchers haven’t enjoyed great success despite the presence of some top International stars. The Perth team won only one of the three matches they played thus far. Both their defeats witnessed batting failures including single-digit scores of their skipper Meg Lanning.

On the other hand, the Melbourne Renegades started off with a big defeat to Adelaide Strikers. In less than 24 hours of time, they defeated the strikers in a big chase. They followed it with a comfortable win over the Scorchers by 4 wickets. In their last game against Sydney Thunder, the Renegades suffered a 3-run defeat after recovering from 25/4 in the 133-run chase.

The WACA Stadium in Perth last hosted Women’s T20s in 2017/18 season. All the four matches witnessed scores around 140. The teams batting second have enjoyed good success with three out of four being won by the chasing team. In another game, the Scorchers fell 13 runs short of the target due to some poor batting in last five overs.

Expert Advice:

In last four matches against the Melbourne Renegades, the Scorchers’ skipper Meg Lanning has been dismissed three times by Lea Tahuhu for low scores. At the WACA, Lanning could be troubled by Tahuhu’s pacer. It is the reason why we have excluded Lanning from our Suggested XI No.2 and picked the pacer instead.
