Preview:

Adelaide Strikers will host Melbourne Renegades at the Karen Rolton Oval this weekend where the two teams clash twice in two days. The game to be played on Saturday will be the first for both the teams in the 2019 edition of the Women’s BBL. The young Renegades nearly took down the mighty Sydney Sixers in the semi-final of the previous edition which ended in a Tie and Sixers won the Super over.

The Renegades won five out of six matches heading into the semis. They will be hoping to continue such performances this season as well. Sophie Molineux’s all-round efforts were one of the reasons for that success. The Adelaide Strikers will be hoping to do better than finish at No.6 this time. Stafanie Taylor’s inclusion and the presence of Sophie Devine and Suzie Bates should help the Strikers to win big.

Weather Condition/Report:

Since this game starts at 2 PM local time, we might not see many interruptions during the game. The weather forecast suggests no rain on Saturday despite the cloud covering.

Top Picks:

Danielle Wyatt is among the top five batters in Women’s cricket in the T20 format at the moment. She has scored over 1000+ runs in T20s this year including 369 runs from last 7 innings. The previous WBBL edition was a dream year for Sophie Molineux as she scored 354 runs and bagged 16 wickets across 14 matches. Molineux opened the innings last year and could continue the same with Wyatt.

Tammy Beaumont could move herself a positon down to accommodate the team strategy. Tahlia McGrath had a quiet period during the WBBL 2018/19. But she earned a good number of points towards the end of the Kia Super League this year and also in the National Cricket League. Bowlers in the form of Molly Strano, Amanda-Jade Wellington, Maitlan Brown and Alex Price picked up a decent number of wickets in the previous edition.

These players could be picked in the Dream11 Fantasy side.

Expert Advice:

Only a maximum of four players among Sophie Devine, Stafanie Taylor, Danielle Wyatt, Sophie Molineux and Tahlia McGrath can be picked in Dream11 Fantasy side. Taking a gamble on Stafanie will be fine as she might not bat for longer period due to a batting heavy line-up. Wyatt doesn’t bowl much at the WBBL and her effectiveness will be restricted to whatever she does with the bat.

Probable Winners:

Adelaide Strikers are expected to start the season with a win.
