WPL 2026 Auction

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) Auction 2026 is all set to take place in New Delhi on November 27 from 3.30 PM IST. This is going to be the first mega-auction in the tournament’s history. A total of 277 players - 194 Indians and 83 overseas - will be available to the five franchises.

There are several renowned players in the pool, starring Deepti Sharma, who won the Player of the Tournament award in the 2025 Women’s World Cup. Kranti Gaud and Shree Charani are some of the other players to watch out for.

Among the overseas stalwarts, international captains Laura Wolvaardt and Alyssa Healy, and England spinner Sophie Ecclestone are expected to be hot picks.

The five teams - Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriorz are looking to fill a maximum of 73 slots, including 50 Indians and 23 overseas. All eyes will be on the marquee set, which comprises Deepti, Renuka Singh, Sophie Devine, Amelia Kerr, Ecclestone, Alyssa Healy, Meg Lanning, and Wolvaardt.

UP Warriorz retained just one player and will have the biggest purse of INR 14.5 crore at the auction. Meanwhile, two-time runners-up, Delhi, have the least amount of money heading into the auction, with only INR 5.7 crore in the bag. It is also important to note that Mumbai and Delhi, who retained five players apiece, will not have access to Right To Match cards.
