Australia beat Bangladesh with five wickets to spare to post the seventh consecutive victory in the tournament

The Australian side beat the Bangladesh outfit with five wickets and 10.5 overs to spare. In a match that was reduced to 43 overs a side, the Bangladesh side batted first and posted a total of 135/6 in their allotted quota. Apart from Lata Mondal, who scored 33 off 63 deliveries, no other batter could even cross the 30-run mark.

Ashleigh Gardner and Jess Jonassen picked up two wickets each to constantly put the brakes on the Bangladesh batting lineup. In reply, even though the Australian side lost a few wickets and were reduced to 70/5, the duo of Beth Mooney and Annabel Sutherland stitched together a superb match-winning partnership of 66 runs for the fifth wicket to seal the job for the Kangaroos.

For the Bangladesh side, Salma Khatun was the pick of the bowlers. In the nine overs that she bowled, Khatun scalped three wickets and also leaked just 23 runs. Australia have now posted seven consecutive victories in the 2022 edition of the World Cup and are occupying the top spot in the points table.
