The news of Shane Warne’s demise shook the world by all means and various cricketers and fans came in numbers to pay tribute to the legend in their own ways. In the same line of events, Australia’s Alana King also paid tribute to Warne in a special way by unlocking a splendid dismissal.

During the fixture between England and Australia’s women’s side in the World Cup, women came up for the match while donning black armbands in order to pay tribute to Warne. As soon as Alana bowled a ripper of a delivery to dismiss star batter Tammy Beaumont, she touched her black armband to pay respect to the deceased soul.

In the third fixture of the Women’s World Cup, Australia posted 310 runs on the board by losing their three wickets in the quota of 50 overs. The batting show of Australia was highlighted by a brilliant century by Rachael Haynes who gave a flying start to the side opening up the order. It remains to be seen how England will be able to chase the target as they have already lost their five wickets on 223 runs and 40 overs (at the time of writing this article).

Talking of Warne’s untimely demise, it was confirmed by his official team that he passed away due to a suspected heart attack while being on a vacation in Thailand. As soon as he was found unresponsive, CPR was carried on him for straight 20 minutes but it was in vain and an ambulance was called up. However, he was declared dead 45 minutes after being taken to hospital.

It is to be noted that the legendary spinner had 708 Test wickets to his credit, only behind Muttiah Muralidaran’s tally. After his death, cricketers in various ongoing series are donning black armbands to pay their tribute to one of the greatest cricketers of all time
