The opening day of the Women’s World T20 in the West Indies turned out to be an enthralling one as six power-packed teams locked horns in three jaw-dropping encounters. Harmanpreet Kaur grabbed most of the limelight by becoming India’s maiden T20I centurion in women’s cricket. The herculean knock blew New Zealand away at Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh and home team Windies also put up some impressive cricket altogether. On the eve of the event, the expectations were high surrounding how the tournament would pan out and the first day didn’t disappoint its fans by any stretch of the imagination. However, the second day of the extravaganza only has one match for the supporters to follow.

Here’s the prelude of what’s on offer on Day 2 of World T20:

Match 4- England vs Sri Lanka

England didn’t quite have the best of times in the warmups as they lost to India by 11 runs and their other match against Australia was washed off. But the fact that Heather Knight’s women have a formidable batting and bowling unit in their armoury can’t be denied. They will be the favourites in the first match against Sri Lanka at Daren Sammy International Cricket Stadium in St Lucia.

England Probable XI

Danielle Wyatt, Tammy Beaumont (C), Natalie Sciver, Heather Knight, Ammy Ellen Jones (wk), Lauren Winfield, Sophia Dunkley, Jenny Gunn, Anya Shrubsole, Danielle Hazel, Sophie Ecclestone

Sri Lanka had a horrendous time in the warmups, having lost both their matches against New Zealand and Ireland. In their first match, a lot would depend on how their skipper Chamari Athapaththu and Shashikala Siriwardene, two of the most experienced players perform. Their other teammates also need to contribute their bit as toppling England won’t be a walk in the park for them by any means.

Sri Lanka Probable XI

Yasoda Mendis, Chamari Athapaththu (C), Hasini Perera, Dilani Mandodara (wk), Shashikala Siriwardene, Eshani Lokasuriyage, Nilakshi de Silva, Sripali Weerakkody, Kavisha Dilhari, Udeshika Prabodhani, Sugandika Kumari
