When the sixth day of the 2018 Women’s World T20 starts, almost all teams would’ve played at least a couple of matches. It goes without saying that from here on teams can’t afford any complacency by any means. While India and Australia from Group B have one foot in the door of the semi-finals, the likes of Pakistan and Bangladesh are staring down the barrel of elimination.

A couple of matches are scheduled to be played on the day and they will be hosted by Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet in St Lucia. The weather at the place hasn’t been promising over the last few days and any of the sides won’t want for their fate to be decided by rain. Even the match between England and Bangladesh was marred by persistent rain.

Here’s the prelude of what’s on offer on Day 5 of World T20:

Match 11- Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh

Yasoda Mendis and Chamari Athapaththu are the opening batsmen with Hasini Perera to follow. Shashikala Siriwardene also needs to step up. Ranasinghe, Nilakshi de Silva and Lokasuriyage are slotted to bat at five and six respectively. Weerakkody and Prabodhani are the fast bowlers with Surangika Kumari, Athapaththu and de Silva assisting her in the spin department.

Shamima Sultana and Ayasha Rahman need to set the tone at the top of the order. Fargana Hoque, Nigar Sultana and stalwart Rumana Ahmed need to shoulder the middle-order. Rumana’s role as a bowler will also have to come to the fore. Sanjida Islam and Lata Mondal can also wield their willows to good effect. All-rounder Salma Khatun will have to do a lot of thinking.

Bangladesh Probable XI

Match 12- Windies vs South Africa

Hayley Matthews, Deandra Dottin will open the batting with skipper Stefanie Taylor to come at number three. The trio is also known for their bowling abilities and they can’t be undermined by the opponents. Shermaine Campbelle, Natasha McClean and Cooper aren’t mugs with the bat in hand.
