Women's World T20: ICC trolls Pakistan fans for questioning the poll

Pakistan Women managed to win only a solitary game in the tournament.

The ICC Women’s World T20 is currently in progress and has reached its concluding stages. The semifinalists have been confirmed as India and England will lock horns while the hosts Windies will face Australia on November 22. All the teams are strong now and any country can win the title this time around. This was the reason why the ICC’s official Twitter handle started a poll on the possible finalists.

They had four options for the fans to answer but in return received a lot of scath from Pakistan fans who thought the poll was for Men’s World T20. They thrashed ICC for not including the Men in Green in the options but were unaware of the fact that the Women’s World T20 is in progress. Despite promoting the event so much, many are unknown about the tournament’s existence it seems.

After being at the receiving end of some harsh responses from Pakistan fans for not including the World’s number 1 T20 team (Men’s), ICC came up with a humorous reply which has left everyone in splits.

Pakistan Women’s performance

As far as Pakistan’s performance in the ongoing tournament is concerned, they managed to win a solitary game against Ireland. They ended the group stage on the third position while the top two qualified for the knockouts. Having said that, the Women in Green fared much better in the competition by competing well against the top teams like Australia and New Zealand.

They managed to restrict the White Ferns and India to a below-par total by strangling them with some exceptional spin bowling. The likes of Sana Mir and Aliya Riaz were the consistent bowlers for them which kept the batters on the tenterhooks all the time. Even the skipper Javeria Khan was one of the positives at the top of the order as Pakistan will look to build strongly on this performance.
