World cup 2015 Group B Match 23 Pakistan v Zimbabwe preview:

Date: 1 March 2015            Time: 0900 IST
Venue:  Brisbane

Pakistan
Pakistan have lost their both matches against India and West Indies and that too by big margins. Their batting has not clicked and neither has their bowling. Ahmad Shehzad has no patience to build an innings and Nasir Jamshed just got into the team after a long time out of the team.
Even Younis Khan, Haris Sohail are not utilising the chances they got. Only Shoaib Maqsood, Umar Akmal and Shahid Afridi have been the main contributors so far in the batting department. Their record collapse in the last match against West Indies gave Pakistan a big loss and denting their net run rate. Thanks to the scheduling, Pakistan only has to face South Africa in one of their next four matches and can win the remaining matches to qualify for knockouts.
Pakistani bowling is also a concern after West Indies scored 310 in their 50 overs. Sohail Khan who came into the team as replacement to Junaid Khan and took 5 wickets against India, looked toothless against West Indies giving 73 runs. Rest of the bowlers also did nothing to note except the 7ft tall Mohd. Irfan who has been economical and tighter with the economy rate.
Pakistan will look to win the match in a comfortable fashion and move their way up the Group B points table.

Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe just had one of the worst outings in history of World Cup. Chris Gayle scored a double hundred and Marlon Samuels a hundred with a world record partnership. But they can take solace that they give a hell of a chase to that total.
Sean Williams and Craig Ervine are their two batting beacons along with the ever consistent Brendan Taylor. Zimbabwe will hope that their openers to contribute more. Sikandar Raza and Regis Chakabva can give Zimbabwe a more stronger start to Zimbabwe for player like Hamilton Masakadza  and Taylor so that they can be more productive.

Zimbabwe’s weakest point is their bowling which leaks runs like a running faucet. Opening bowlers Tinashe Panyangara and Tendai Chatara have been not able to get early wickets and are giving away too many runs. They did get Smith out early, but after that Gayle and Smith pulverised them into submission. Even their spin is ineffective and they need the experience of Prosper Utseya in the team because Kamungozi just does not have enough variations to trouble the Pakistani line up.

This is their chance to score an upset win as Pakistan in under a lot of pressure to win and qualify for the knockout matches despite being in poor form.
