World Cup 2015 Match 27 Group A Bangladesh vs Scotland Preview:

Date: 5 March 2015         Time: 0330 IST
Venue: Nelson

Bangladesh
Bangladesh were basically beaten into submission by Sri Lanka in their last game. The Bangladeshi bowlers gifted runs to Sri Lanka like a running faucet. Both Lahiru Thirimanne and Kumar Sangakkara scored centuries and SriLanka made 332/1. The Bangladeshi batting had no answer for Sri Lankan bowling. Their number 8 batsman Sabbir Rahman top scored for them and their top 5 got a start, but couldn’t go on to make a big score. That has to be their primary concern against Scotland. Though Scotland is a team below Bangladesh, but they almost won their first World Cup match against Afghanistan and will give Bangladesh some big fight.

The Bangla bowlers have lots on their hands to think about and get into rhythm for big matches ahead. Taskin Ahmed, Rubel Hossain, Captain Mortaza need to worl on restricting opposition batting to a minimum.  Their openers Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque need to provide a good start and it will be interesting to see how the Scottish bowlers do on the Nelson pitch and the small ground.

Scotland
Scotland almost won their first match in World Cup, if only they could have got the last pair of Afghanistan out. But they can take heart from the fact that they almost defended 210 against an opposition. Captain Preston Momsen will look forward to cause a big upset and beat Bangladesh as they are a test playing nation and a win against them will be a bigger morale booster.

Scotland’s batting actually clicked in patches and no batsmen went on to make a big score and/or hold the innings together. Kyle Coetzer, Calum MacLeod, Hamish Gardiner need to take responsibility upon themselves that they will bat through the innings and hold it together contributing towards a big score.

Their bowling was good enough and they would appreciate more effort from Iain Wardlaw, Alaisdar Evans to support Berrington and Haq.
