World Cup 2015 Match 42 Group B Pakistan vs Ireland; Most exciting match at the last:

Date: 15 March 2015       Time: 0900 IST
Venue: Adelaide

Ireland

Ireland had won one of the most exciting games in the World Cup 2015 against Zimbabwe.  But India bought them back to earth beating them by 8 wickets in hand, completely dominating them. The hope of QF qualification is still alive and will depend if they can beat Pakistan or not. They would hope to bat first in the Adelaide ground to put pressure on Pakistan. They have beaten them in 2007 World Cup and they can do it now.

Irish batting is in form and has been doing wonderfully well. Ed Joyce, Porterfield, Wilson, Stirling, the O’Brien brothers all have had good knock under their belts and Ireland would depend on them to counter the Pakistani fast bowling which has discovered a sting in their tail and which destroyed Zimbabwe’s hopes and won a narrow game from out of know where.

Irish bowling will hope that they get some runs to play with if Ireland bat first, or else they are in a world of pain against an in-form Pakistani batting line-up. But they have enough experience in Sorenson, Dockrell, Stirling and Mooney to keep India under check. Get ready to see a very exciting match which will decide which of the team gets to go into the quarterfinals.

Pakistan

Pakistan defeated South Africa in a clinical performance to boost their chances of getting into the QFs. With this win, Pakistan has now won their third match in the group. Sarfraz Ahmed made an alt appearance in the playing XI but made it a one to remember. He made 49 runs on top of the order and took a record 6 catches behind the stumps to steal victory from South Africa.

Pakistan now has to beat Ireland in their final match with a good margin to qualify for the QFs. Their bowling consisting of Wahab Riaz, Rahat Ali, Mohammad Irfan and Shahid Afridi choked South Africa to defeat the other night and Ireland must not possess much threat to them in terms of big hitting, but hey are some sticky customers there.

If Pakistan is worried about missing some key players who brought stability to the line-up, it is not letting on. The team has managed to hang in there, and Misbah has done everything to keep the dream alive.
