We are back to the Oval to play the 5th Match of World Cup 2019. South Africa lost their opening match against home team England by a massive 104-run difference and now hope to bring their first two points on board while taking on Bangladesh. Here is all you need to read for both the teams before picking your Fantain XI .
Team News:
South Africa
South Africa’s Batting against Home Team England fell apart. De Kock and der Dussen were the sole batters to make a respectable 207 on board and they still fell short of the target of 311 runs. The economy rate of the bowlers was not impressive either. If they take the Asian team for granted, they are not likely to get their points here either.
Squad: Faf du Plessis (capt), Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock (wk), JP Duminy, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Chris Morris, Lungi Ngidi, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi, Dale Steyn, Imran Tahir, Rassie van der Dussen.
News: Steyn is not expected to be part of the playing XI.
Bangladesh
Ranked 7th on the ICC table, Bangladesh is no longer the pushover they were always known for. They lost to India at the warm-up match, yes; but they brought 264 runs to the board against the likes of Chahal, Yadav and Bumrah. A fantastic feat by itself. Bangladesh recently defeated the West Indies and have been in good touch with the game. They should not be taken lightly.
Squad: Mashrafe Mortaza (capt), Abu Jayed, Liton Das (wk), Mahmudullah, Mehidy Hasan, Mohammad Mithun (wk), Mohammad Saifuddin, Mosaddek Hossain, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Sabbir Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Tamim Iqbal.
News: Tamim Iqbal looks doubtful.
Top Picks
Rubel Hossain: Pace is key on a flat pitch that helps bowlers bring 300+ runs to the board. Hossain brings that advantage to the table.
Shakib Al Hasan: The man with the magic touch can take wickets and add runs to the scoreboard with ease.
De Kock: He is key to the batting strength of the team. Consistent and in form, he was the lead scorer at the warm up match.
Lungi Ngidi: England’s seaming pitches will bring out the best in a pacer like Ngidi. Combined with Rabada, the two pacers can destroy the strongest lineup.
Fantain Fantasy XI:
Batsmen: Faf du Plessis (C), Liton Das, H Amla, Soumya Sarkar, Van der Dussen
Bowlers: Imran Tahir, Ngidi, Rabada (VC)
All-Rounders: Shakib Al Hasan, Andile P
WK: M Rahim
