The wait for the blockbuster match between India and Pakistan is getting shorter and shorter as the two Asian giants will clash at Old Trafford in Manchester in what will the seventh meeting between both the teams on June 16. Fans of both the teams are waiting and praying that rain doesn’t play spoilsport as it has been doing for past few matches.

Another thing that the fans would have prayed for is for former England captain Michael Vaughan to not make his famous prediction for the match winner in their team’s favour. Vaughan’s predictions on his official Twitter account has become a different thing in itself, thanks to every one of his predicted winners losing their matches and this has gotten to the point where fans of a particular team are asking Vaughan to predict the opposition team as winners.

Vaughan predicts Pakistan to win against India

India and Pakistan matches are always huge draws for ICC and despite the not-so-good relations between the two countries thanks to the Pulwama incident and subsequent Indian Air Force airstrikes in Pakistani region, there were calls for India to boycott the match, but cooler heads prevailed and fans hope to see the two rivals face off.

Michael Vaughan has gone through with his tradition of predicting the winners of matches in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 and this time, he has put his bets of Pakistan to beat India for the first time in the ICC mega event. He tweeted, “Easy win for Pakistan”.

It is important to mention that Vaughan has been doing this for quite a while and all of his predicted winners have gone on to lose their matches. Therefore, the prediction has made many of the Indian fans very happy. The Men in Green have never managed to prevail over India in six attempts with their first meeting coming in World Cup 1992 in Australia and New Zealand.

The last time the two sides met in a World Cup in England, India had prevailed thanks to a five-wicket haul by Venkatesh Prasad. However, Pakistan will have the solace of knowing that they defeated India in their last meeting in an ICC event, the Champions Trophy 2017, which was also played in England, where Sarfaraz and his men lifted the trophy with a 180-run win over Kohli and his troops.
