Pakistan fans blew off their lids after India lost to England and then New Zealand yielded the same result yesterday, making it almost impossible for the Men in Green to make it into the top four. They just have one match left in the World Cup now, against Bangladesh to end their tournament on a high. There were lots of hopes from the team, which came crashing down pretty badly.

Technically and mathematically, they are not out of the race for the semis, but the equation in front of the team is highly impossible to achieve. Things would have been easier if New Zealand had defeated England, which might have brought them on equal points and then a win for Pakistan would have taken them in the knockouts.

Now, they need to better their net run rate and to do that, they need to beat Bangladesh by a margin of 300 plus runs. If they bat second, they have to chase the target without a ball being bowled. Despite the tough ask, many fans still have a sliver of hope left for the team and one such fan sharing exaggerated scenarios of how the Pakistan team can make it into the semis.

He was saying all that in a pretty sarcastic and humorous tone, which isn’t intended to be taken on face value. He says that the Men in Green can qualify if they bat first and put on a target of 370-380 which is possible any day of the week. Then for some reason, Bangladesh refuses to bat.

He further mentions that in a second scenario, for some reason either New Zealand or England refuses to play in the semifinals or commits suicide or team recluses themselves from the tournament.

Here is the video of the fan:

The Men in Green have themselves to be blamed as they lost matches that they should have won against Australia and India and that huge loss to West Indies hurt them badly. They should have beaten Afghanistan by a big margin, but barely managed to scrape past them and this hurt their net run rate and now have no chance to make it into top four.
