World Cup Match 40 Scotland vs Australia; Starc hunts with the ball Clarke cuts through the Scotland challenge: Australia faced Scotland in their last match in the group stages. They had made changes brining in Pat Cummins in for Josh Hazlewood. Scotland batted first against Australia in their last match of the 2015 World Cup.

Australian bowling put Scotland in pressure from ball one. Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins put Scotland under pressure by picking wickets early. Matt Machan (40) and Calum MacLeod (22) withstood early assault but the rest of the batsmen withered away under tremendous pace and swing. Josh Davey (26) and Michael Leask (23) showed some rear guard support, but Scotland could not recover from being 79/7 and were bowled out for 130 runs. Mitchell Starc took 4/14 while Pat Cummins took 3/42 to wreak havoc on Scotland batting.

Australian reply started with a surprise when Captain Michael Clarke opened the innings with Aaron Finch. Aaron Finch got out after a brisk 20. Clarke and Watson then built up the innings after Finch’s departure. Rain interrupted and threatened to wash the match out. But the rain gods relented and match continued. Clarke was dismissed for 47 and Watson departed for 24. James Faulkner and David Warner then took Australia to an easy win. Faulkner scored 16 off 6 and Warner 21 off 6.
