Playing XI-

England:

Jason Roy, Alex Hales, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan(c), Jos Buttler(w), Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, David Willey, Liam Plunkett

New Zealand:

Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson (C), Colin Munro, Ross Taylor, Corey Anderson, Grant Elliott, Luke Ronchi (w), Mitchell Santner, Mitchell McClenaghan, Ish Sodhi, Adam Milne

Williamson: “We would have had a bat. This surface looks much better than the ones we have played on. Bat or bowl, it will be a fair playing wicket. Guptill comes back for Nicholls and Milne comes back for McCullum. The boys are ready to go. Embraced the travel we have had so far.”

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson said: “We would have had a bat. This surface looks much better than the ones we have played on. Guptill comes back and Milne too. The boys are ready to go. Embraced the travel we have had so far.”

At the toss Morgan said: “We’ll bowl first. I think it’s a good surface. It will get better later with the dew. Same team for us. Throughout this tournament we have built up consistency so reinforcing that with the same team is important. We have felt very relaxed in Delhi. We are open minded about how we go about things and concentrate on what we do best. I would like to think that we can cope with their spinners. Will be interesting to see if it turns, hasn’t done so in the past couple of games. Tonight is all about going and showing what we can do.”

England skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and have opted to bowl first in the 1st semi-final of the World T20 2016 at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi.

VVS Laxman at the pitch report said, “We shouldn’t go too much with the tinge of grass on the wicket. The ball won’t seam. It’s just for binding it together. The pitch will be similar to the one which we had for the match between Sri Lanka and England. And the ball will skid on under lights,”
