The Trans -Tasman rivals – Australia and New Zealand are set to clash in the mountainous Dharamsala. The Aussies will be opening their Super 10 campaign whereas New Zealander is upbeat after their superb victory over tournament hosts and hot favorite India.

The mind games had already begun ahead of the clash with Australian skipper Steven Smith and Shane Watson pointing out New Zealand’s poor record against them in the big games. However, the Kiwis also had an answer to it with senior player Ross Taylor stating that they would take an inspiration from the recent victory in the Chapell-Hadlee series.

Dharamsala offers great carry and bounce. Players from both the side enjoy such condition. The contest is going to be crackling with both teams having some great power hitters in their line-up. expect a fantastic contest.

Steven Smith: “We would have also batted. It looks pretty dry. It is exciting to start our World Cup campaign here today. We have played against them recently and hopefully we can do well today. We have a very strong 15-man squad and have picked a side that will do well against New Zealand. Usman and Watson (will open the batting).”

Kane Williamson: “We are going to have a bat. The pitch looks pretty dry and we want to make use of it first. The slower bowlers will come in later on. We have one change, Mitchell McClenaghan comes in for Nathan McCullum. We have got a win early and hopefully we can make adjustments on a new wicket.”

Toss: New Zealand has won the toss and have opted to bat
