Veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha recently came up with a tweet that perplexed the cricket fans. It was Saha, urging his fans and the cricket fraternity to not believe any baseless rumours that are being spread about him in the media. He did not point out at any particular news or a post, and this has certainly left everyone guessing and clueless.
Whether the tweet was for any recent news headlines or is a precursor for some rumour that might come up in the days to come, remains to be seen. As of now, from the outlook, it is apparent that the tweet was with regards to a recent news which was circulated about Saha’s request being turned down by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Recently, some media reports suggested that the Bengal cricketer had requested the BCCI to let him train under Vijay Yadav at the NCA, Bengaluru. Vijay Yadav, the former India keeper from Haryana, is a wicketkeeping coach now. Saha, who is currently in the rehab process at the NCA, wanted Vijay Yadav to train him since the regular NCA wicketkeeping coach Abhay Sharma is on India A duty at the moment.
However, the BCCI, reportedly, turned down the offer citing that Saha can train under Kiran More, who is a visiting coach at the NCA. From Saha’s tweet, it is apparent that these reports are untrue.
“There are some baseless rumours doing the rounds. Requesting all of you to avoid such news, there are no truths to it,” Wriddhiman Saha wrote in a tweet.

Commenting on Saha’s cricket form, the keeper-batsman has not played an international game for almost a year now. He had injured himself during India’s tour of South Africa last year. Since then, he had to undergo surgery and has been undergoing rehab to be match fit again.
A bigger challenge awaits him now though. Despite being tipped as India’s best keeping resource, he might find it tough to make it to the side since Rishabh Pant has impressed one and all with his performances in overseas Tests.
