When the leg spinners toss the ball up and boggle the batsmen turning it a long way, its one of the best sights you can ever come across in cricket. Talking about that particularly, no one excelled the art of turning the ball the way Shane Warne did right through his career that spanned 145 Test matches. In the present generation, Yasir Shah is the one amongst the leggies who keeps popping up such deliveries which leave everyone mesmerised.

Shah and Ravichandran Ashwin are currently battling it to earn the tag “Best in the generation” amongst the spinners, a rivalry so reminiscent of the legendary Warne-Murali duels. Both these classy spinners from Pakistan and India have been sublime in the longest format of the game over the years and they are currently the best in the business.

In a Specsavers County Championship Division Two match between Worcestershire and Kent, Yasir baffled Moeen Ali with an unplayable delivery and the latter was helpless and got rapped on the pads. Moeen was looking dangerous after he got to his fifty at a strike rate more than hundred, but the leg-spinner’s magic got the better of the English middle order batsman.

After Kent and Worcestershire registered 270 and 336 in their respective first innings, Kent went all out on the Worcestershire bowlers and registered a mammoth 474 on the board and the latter needed 399 runs on the final day to win. Jeo Denly was the star with a spectacular double ton. Just when Kent thought they had an opportunity to save or win the game, their opponents had other ideas.

Tons from Joe Clarke and Daryl Mitchell and a quick fire half century from Moeen Ali helped Worcestershire chase 399 runs in just 81.5 overs. Not just the heroics from the Worcestershire batters, Yasir Shah to stole the spotlight with a peach of a delivery. Ali’s wicket never really turned the game in their favour, but the way that ball turned is something people will keep talking about for some time.

Here’s the video of that gem of a delivery from Yasir Shah which caught Moeen Ali by a surprise.
