Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah, who last played against England in August last year, aims to be back in the One Day International squad. Shah has been a regular in only the Test side and gave way to Shadab Khan in the ODI format. Yasir missed out on the recently concluded Champions Trophy which Pakistan won by defeating their arch rivals India in the finals.

Yasir Shah was part of Pakistan’s tour to West Indies which was the last series featuring two of the biggest stars of Pakistan batting by the name of Misbah ul Haq and Younis Khan. The Future Tour Program has not been announced post-Champions Trophy. Therefore it is not certain yet when Shah would get the opportunity to play. As of now, he desires to perform any domestic league or tournament such that the selectors take notice of his performance and gives him a shot in the ODI format.

“The idea is to put in my best effort for Pakistan. To achieve that, I will aim to bowl the best I can in every league or domestic tournament so that the selectors can take note and pick me for the national team. It is my wish to make a comeback in the One-Day format and I am trying hard to achieve that aim,” commented Yasir Shah according to PakPassion.com.

After making his Test debut back in October 2014 against Australi, Shah did not look back in the whites as the claimed 149 Test wickets in 26 matches. He is the prime potent weapon for Pakistan especially in the longest format of the game and is renowned for being the favourite of legendary leg spinner Shane Warne. However, in the ODI format, he could not have the same amount of success as he could only claim 18 wickets in the 17 matches at an average of 42.55.
